Canal Promenade is the main pedestrian public spine that links the CBD with residential district R4 and main transit stops.The canal e25、xtends North-South from the Meixi Lake towards the mountains and it ends in a civic plaza.The Promenade provides pedestrians with two distinctive edges.While its eastern edge is flanked mostly by Canal housing with private and semi-private gardens with boat docks;the western edge consists of a lands26、caped public walk with trees and retail Par35、k and all subsequent block series B,C,D,E run towards the mountains with series F being at the foot of the hills.The total R4 district area is 685,370 square meters with approximately 46%of open space.Total building construction area is almost two million square feet with an average floor area ratio36、(FAR)of 2.88(calculation based on total district area).A contingency of 5%is expected.The total population in the R4 district is estimated to be 50,000 and it is based on the gross floor area of residential buildings.The district will also have at least 6%of its total building construction as amenit37、ies set forth by the governing
