Dali,meaning a state of great order.Many of the architectures 8、of the city were built of marble from the ore nearby,and that is why it is also called a city of Dali Stone(marble Dali has exquisite marble which is carved into all sorts of products:vases,ashtrays,carved animals and more.).The marble stone is used in modern architecture by the Bai.It can also be c9、ut and polished revealing pictures on the surface.These are known as Chushi and can be bought framed to serve as wall decorations.Many people can mistake them for traditional Chinese paintings.Generally,the common stone are
