growth and development occurred in American cities following the Second World War.Expansion of the economy and a growing population led American cities to grow at a rapid pace while the negative aspect of this growth was7、 the creation of endless acres of suburban living with no soul or identity.It transformed the American landscape into endless acres of sprawl.It became a landscape of mini-malls,parking lots,tract houses,and of congested living.The American suburban landscape has become an identity-less place which 8、cannot be distinguished from California,Texas,or New York.In many ways,Tianjin and other Chinese cities are facing the same dilemma.New construction is being built to address the needs of a growing population with increased demand for high quality housing,commercial
