convergence of the Yangtze River and Hang Zhou Bay.In the year 2005 the population of this beautiful new city is p4、rojected to be 75,000.Further,in the year 2020 it is projected to have a population of 300,000 residents.Additionally,it is projected that the city will draw a multitude of visitors and tourists due to its spectacular amenities,cultural,tourism and recreational opportunities.Early in the design and 5、planning of New Harbour City,the Concept Planning,Style and Features Planning were conceived of and created by GMP.In this proposal we have been given the opportunity to develop the landscape masterplan for the 80m wide area circling the lake and to explore and define its connections to the built fa6、bric,surrounding green spaces and the greater Lu Chao Port.1.1 序言海港新城位于上海东南边90公里处的芦潮港,风景包括有黄河、杭州湾。规划人口预计将在2005年达到7.5万人、2020年达到30万人。另外由于市区的壮丽和舒适的环境、文化、旅游和休闲空间将会为当地带来更多的游客。海港新城的初期构想、风格和特色是由GMP所设计和规划而成的。这次的设计方案包含湖边外围80米的景观总体规划以及周围绿地、都市建造发展和大芦潮港地区运输连接。CONTEXT PLAN concept has been derived from the effect a drop of water has as it falls upon a greater area of water.Upon impact,one small drop displaces t8、he whole into concentric,circular ripples dissipating out in rhythmic balanced waves of energy growing larger as they radiate out from the point of impact.The town plan for New Harbour City is centered on a 5km2 circular man-made lake that interacts with its surrounding land through a series of cana9、ls and waterways.The first“wave”of development will be the CBD.Planned as a dense urban ring surrounding the lake,it will be comprised of office,commercial,residential and institutional buildings and land uses.The Architectural style is designed to be of a Contemporary European flavor.A public prome10、nade lines the interior lake forming the inner most ring of the CBD.This promenade will act as a“living edge”binding man with nature in an active public realm.Radiating out and encircling the dense,urban ring is a 400m wide green belt,a soft gentle second“wave”.The circular and radial layout of New 11、Harbour City is a historically successful town planning idea.It is reminiscent of several famous cities in Europe,Paris for one,and is closely linked with the classic English Garden City plan.Due to the massive scale and formality of the current concept,there is a need for an articulation of the pla12、ns geometry around the central waterfront open spaces.1.2 现有概念 formal,concentric,circular,bands which radiate fr16、om the centre of the lake evoking the reaction of a drop of water landing upon a larger body of water.The road network is composed of a series of concentric circles which radiate from the central lake.The road layout allows for good vehicular circulation by utilizing a radiating arterial connector s17、ystem throughout New Harbour City.1.4 central,interior focus of this network is the 80m wide waterfront promenade precinct surrounding the lake.Additionally,a 400m wide green ring of open space and parkland flanks 19、the periphery of the urban,CBD ring.There are green wedges which axially radiate from the center through the circular urban zone,through the“green ring”and out to integrate with the peripheral adjacent land.1.5 现有概念分析 and feed into the central lake through a series of smaller canals and streams.Despite the high profile of water,there is no address or connection to Lu Chao Port immediately adjacent to the New Harbour City site.We see the visual and physical link as an important element further reinforci22、ng the importance of water and justifying the location of the new city in its geographic location.Physical water access between Lu Chao Port and New Harbour City would capitalize on a recreational and tourism opportunities unique to this special site.1.6 现有概念分析 水系 of the water drop 30、and energy waves has been explored.The water edge has been designed to reflect the dynamic and rhythmic form of ripples.The effect is like the ripples of a sandy beach.2.2 设计理念 themes and patterns within the site.Conn32、ect the central lakes promenade to the surrounding land uses through a series of visual and physical land gateways.From the west,the main“urban gateway”will be strongly represented as it radiates through the landscape and extends across the lakeside promenade.It will continue along this axis on the 33、east side of the central lake to form urban parkland.From the north a green link will form an ecological gateway into the site and extend through to the peninsula.From the south east an ocean gateway will be created along the main canal linking the Central Lake and the ocean From the south-west a re34、creation gateway will be created which extends from the green belt right through to the recreation island These gateway themes will influence and Neighborhoods has been created within the site to subtly structure activity and movement as well as designate the use of public open spaces.Links have been designed to subtly direct t37、he corresponding hierarchy of landmarks.The central or City landmark will be a39、 cloud tower in the center of the lake as envisioned by GMP.Each Gateway will have appropriate architectural landmarks of built form.Each of the Nodes in the promenade will have light box landmarks that will also serve as ferry terminals.2.5 设计理念 is a continuous pedestrian and bicycle path which then links into the boulevard and urban zone,radiating out through the plazas and canals.Once in the urban zone,it becomes a much finer network of side street and residential scale footpaths.At a more recreati42、onal level there are walking,biking,hiking and jogging trails in many of the precincts as well as in the green belt encircling the spaces designed for casual interaction and people watching will be created throughout the site.Physical Activity A series of well-connected paths for walking,jogging,and cycling will be available on the various linkages through the si52、te and connecting to broader networks.Entertainment and spectacle spaces will be an important feature and will cater to a broader,diverse community.Passive recreation spaces will be created for more contemplative and passive activities.These spaces will provide visual and mental relief and contrast 53、from the hard and active urban spaces provided well as integrated into the broader open space networks.Diversity of usersRecognising that there will be a diversity of users ranging from workers,tourists,56、shoppers and residents,different spaces will cater for different users and their unique requirements.In some spaces however,it will be the actual diversity of its users that will make the space engaging and special.Access and SafetyAll open spaces will be designed to conform to the highest standards57、 of safety,access and mobility so that they will be welcoming and enjoyed by all.Environmental SustainabilityThe sites degraded areas will be re-vegetated with native woodland and wetlands,which will create habitat and encourage wildlife.Native planting will also extend into the built fabric,which w58、ill further encourage wildlife as well as respond to the natural site conditions and minimize irrigation requirements.Furthermore,the highest standards of water sensitive urban design will be applied throughout the open spaces by incorporating creative design solutions.PlacemakingUrban spaces and si59、gnature nodes within New Harbour City will be designed to the highest standards of contemporary design and feature quality materials.Cultural Interpretation and ExpressionThe opportunity to expose and interpret the sites heritage will be fully realized in the articulation of the landscapes through e60、ducational and artistic means.It will also be a significant space for expression of contemporary cultural events and la168、ke is the main vehicular,tram,bicycle and pedestrian connector ring road for the entire city.It is designed to be a formal tree lined traffic way reminiscent of luxurious European boulevards.In the center of the traffic way there is a generous median with a central tramway.The tramway is lined on bo169、th sides with canopy trees and underplanted with colorful mass plantings.Both sides of the boulevard have generous footpaths and are lined with deciduous canopy trees with feature trees such as palms interspersed at regular intervals.There will be parallel parking along both sides of the boulevard i170、nterrupted at regular intervals with street trees.The parking along the interior relates to the promenade and the parking lining the exterior relates to the commercial and urban edge.The boulevard is a strong consistent element within the plan.While the promenade varies as it moves around the lake,t171、he boulevard remains consistent in size,materials and function and promenade.Environmentally,they serve as water collectors for the various neighborhoods and water tributaries flanking the urban ring feeding the water into the central lake for bio remediation174、 cleaning.The canals also serve as neighborhood collectors,offering passive recreational opportunities for strolling,quiet relaxation,reading and contemplation.Physically,the canals are split level
