SYSTEM道路系统和街区分布规划PROPOSED ROADWAY SYSTEM&BLOCK LAYOUT规划的道路系统和街区分布将支持地区的发展规划。然而相反的，新的道路体系也将公园割裂开来形成南北两片沿河的地块。The proposed block layout and r15、oadway grid will support development within the region.Adversely,the new system also disconnects the park by breaking it into two parts via proposed north/south local INSPIRATION新南翔南部的公园位于临近城市化发展地区的中心区域，也是诸多新兴的嘉定城市公园之一。这个19.5公顷的公园应当被设计成一个周边居民用于休闲社交，19、参与社会活动的场所。This new South Nanxiang Park is the centerpiece of the surrounding new urban development currently taking place and is one of several new Jiading city parks.The 19.5 ha park is to be the destination for the local neighborhood residents to relax,socialize and enjoy public a si21、te visit,the site seemed to offer no hot spots to start a design.Some of the initial ideas were interested in the past settlement patterns to understand the geography of this place;the old villages,fields and canals that are no longer there.The site seemed to want to be tied together with a circulat22、ion plan that was based on simple desire lines;paths that were convenient,logical destinations to go and had opportunities to create places.This seemed to be intuitive and quickly evolved into a series of criss crossing paths,Paths of Desire.The design reminded us of several things;the childrens gam23、e;The Cats Cradle,a style of European 18th century city planning of skewed,intersecting streets and also a style of contemporary painting that expressed tension and visual park has two canals running though it.The North Canal is an existing 30 meter wide channel with a concrete slope wall along its entire length.The South Canal is a new alignment;a relocated existing channel that is an 18 meter width.Both canals are part of a regional flood contr57、ol and water conveyance system.Water quality is poor;the canals do not offer a natural amenity except for the notion of linking the park to a greater open space network.The design improvements include replacing the concrete embankment with a rip rap embankment and adding planting shelves to soften i58、ts appearance and adding to wildlife habitat.The grading concept along both channels includes lowering the top level in some locations creating a naturalized riparian landscape for upstream flood storage and on is considered an equal component of the total park design.The approach creates a riparian landscape using native plant communities for most of the site to respond to the eco-demands of a modern park design.Specifically,the planting had to address the canal water quality,filte62、r and detain storm water runoff,provide wildlife and fisheries habitat,reduce irrigation demand and have low maintenance needs.The urban planting will be limited along the perimeter street frontages and within the garden rooms.The planting theme will be more specific in the next design phase and its63、 an opportunity to park needs to be seen as an on going public asset and resource,along with being the neighborhoods centerpiece.One of the co87、ncept ideas was to have a flexible design;not to over-design and fill every space.The master plan has some strong overall notions as the framework but the individual places are neutral enough to allow for multiple uses and to have people to use their imaginations to create their own enjoyment.With t88、he surrounding blocks being developed,the public infrastructure and supporting utilities currently being built;the park needs an implementation plan to continue the
